Dr. Andrew Cruickshank

Playing an integral role within HOOKE’s team of psychologists, Dr Andrew Cruikshank works with members to optimise a positive symbiosis between the biological and social aspects of health. Through a range of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and Brief Solution-Focussed Therapy, Dr Cruikshank assesses and tracks cognition, expectation, emotion and motivation to support psychological health and performance.

Having trained at the University of Edinburgh, Dr Cruikshank joined the Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS), Health and Care Professions Council registration (HPCP) and completed a PhD.

A former professional footballer, Dr Cruikshank has applied his expertise to Grey Matters Performance Ltd as the Senior Performance Psychologist, working extensively with professional, Olympic and Paralympic athletes and medallists. This has led him to become involved with the management and support structures, organisations and national governing bodies for a range of sports.

Well-versed in lecturing and doctoral supervision, Dr Cruikshank’s published research in the field of applied psychology has been widely presented, as he continues to focus on advances in human potential.
